Move for Life is a fun, healthy, interactive, 6-8 week program** designed
to help you increase or maintain your physical activity. The U.S. Surgeon
General's Report on Physical Activity & Health documents that people who
are physically active manage stress better, sleep better and feel better.

Move for Life recognizes that people come in all shapes, sizes and
physical abilities, with physical activity levels ranging from none to
athletes-in-training.  But no matter where a person falls in that range, you
can tailor
Move for Life to meet your individual needs. YOU define your
own level of participation in regular physical activity by setting a personal
goal.

This specific program counts minutes of
physical activity and converts those
minutes into points.

For every 10 minutes of exercise, or any
activity that increases your heart rate, you
are awarded 1 point.  The goal is to get at
least 3 points (30 minutes) a day and an
overall program goal of 180-240 points
depending on the length of the program session.

Move for Life is extremely fun and beneficial because you can count a
variety of activities towards your daily minutes!

Activities that can be counted are (but not limited to):
Biking                             Playing with your Kids                Aerobics
Swimming                       Weight Lifting                             Stair Climbing
Hiking                             Roller-blading                           Jumping Rope
Raking Leaves                Yoga                                         Push Mowing
Shoveling Snow              Pushing a Stroller                        Kick Boxing

With your registration fee of
$4, you will receive a beginning program
incentive as well as an ending prize.  For an additional
$4 you may
purchase a pedometer which counts your steps for you.  Since you are
counting minutes of activity in this program, a pedometer is useful when
tracking mileage walked or jogged.

At the end of the program the participants that finished the program will also
be eligible for additional prizes ranging in worth from $5 - $30.

Prizes include:
Exercise equipment           T-shirts                                          Lunch Bags
Water bottles                     Portable AM/FM radios                  Backpacks
Gift Certificates to Wal-Mart

**County-wide programs are run twice a year, but we can run individual
                                             sessions at any time.
