America on the Move is a national fitness program that not only focuses on the
physical activity aspect, but touches on the nutritional diet element as well.
America on the Move is a combination between our
“Walk Your Way to 10,000
Steps” program and the Move for Life program that we offer.  Each day you are to
track your physical activity, whether by steps with a pedometer, or by type and
minutes of an activity.  In addition to exercising daily, you are to decrease your
caloric intake by 100 each day.  So not only are you exercising more, but you’re
eating less.

America on the Move is a 6-week, Internet based program where all your data is
kept online.  For those of you intimidated by the Internet, this is a very simple
process.  We will help organize the groups during our program session, but simply
log onto the
America on the Move website, register, and start moving!  Each day
you should record your steps or activity time, and the website will take care of the
rest.  It keeps track of steps, your averages, and the overall group average to see
where you are when compared to everyone else in the program.
If you choose to use a step counter, you log your steps in on the website.  If you
choose to do a certain amount of an activity, you can put in the amount of time you
exercised, and choose an activity that closely represents the kind of exercise you
have done, and then the computer converts that into steps, so all the amounts are
universal.  This way with
America on the Move you can count ANY TYPE of activity
towards the program!  Since the final tallies are calculated in steps, your group can
track miles walked, and even choose a virtual “walking trail” that informs you of
specific sites that you pass along the way.  You can choose to walk the Lewis and
Clark trail or across the United States!

Since you and your friends are moving more and eating less, weight loss is more
common than just diet or exercise alone.
America on the Move is a great program
to help you start a new complete lifestyle change.  There is also an option to
continue for another 26 weeks even after the 6-week program has finished!  For
